However,  before you look at any other scholarships, all ETS students should look at the New Hampshire Charitable Scholarship Fund application to see if they are eligible. The application for 2025 will open in January and is due in April.

While this is a list of some of the top scholarships that ETS recommends, it is not a comprehensive list and there are MANY scholarships out there. Make sure to continue to meet with your ETS advisor once you have submitted your college applications so that they can help you apply to as many scholarships as possible! Below are links to a few good "Scholarship search engines," to help you identify additional scholarship opportunities. Additionally, most high school counseling offices post scholarship opportunities either in their office or school website!

NH Community College Emergency Fund- The Student Emergency Aid Fund is a partnership between The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges and Granite Edvance to support CCSNH students enrolled in a certificate, associate degree, or workforce development program who need short-term emergency financial support for non-tuition related expenses (i.e., food, housing, childcare, transportation, healthcare expenses, etc.) to remain enrolled and continue their educational journey.

Department of Labor Nursing Expansion Grant- Participants may be eligible to receive funding and support services that include:

  • Scholarships for tuition for various nursing pathways: LNA, LPN, ASN, RN, BSN
  • Support services based on individual need.
  • Access to free career advising and coaching services

Nov 1- National Space Club Scholarship 

Date Available: 9/1
Award Amount: $20,000 (1)
Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
  • The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students.
  • The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests.
  • The applicant can only use the $20,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the 2025-2026 academic year.
  • The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner.
       

Nov 14- Jack Cooke Kent Foundation Scholarship*

Date Available: 8/22
Award Amount: "last dollar," up to $55,000 (fills in gap left by institutional financial aid)
Criteria:

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Senior standing – Complete four years of high school in the U.S., a U.S territory, or on a U.S. military base and plan to graduate in spring 2025.
  • Fall College Enrollment – Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2025.
  • GPA – Earn a minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above.
  • Demonstrate Unmet Financial Need – We will consider applicants with family annual gross income up to $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.

Dec. 1Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers

  • an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited two-year college, four-year college or a university; or a high school senior accepted for such enrollment.
  • pursuing, or planning to pursue, a course of study leading toward a career in physics teaching in the high schools.
  • showing promise of success in their studies, and
  • a citizen of the United States of America
 

Dec. 1Smith College Poetry Prize for High School Girls 

Date Available: 9/1
Award Amount: $500
Criteria:

  • The winner & three finalists will read their poems at the judge’s reading on April 8, 2025.
  • Submissions accepted: September 1–December 1, 2024. Winners will be announced in March 2025.
  • No entry fee. Application form required.
  • One poem per student (10th or 11th grade students are eligible)
  • Maximum of 25 lines.
  • Children of Smith employees are not eligible to enter.
  • Winner and finalists of previous years may not re-enter; past semifinalists may re-enter.
 

Dec. 15Equitable Excellence Scholarship

Award Amount: $5,000
Criteria:

  • Be a current high school senior that resides in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in school, community, or work activities.
  • Be willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information about their plans or achievements along with photographs for use in Program promotion/information.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
   

Dec. 16- Burger King Scholarship

Date Available: Oct 15
Award Amount: $1,000 $5,000, $10,000, $60,000
Criteria:

  • Be living in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or Canada
  • Be graduating high school seniors (U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam or Canada
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent
  • Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire 2025-26 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school or CEGEP or equivalent in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam or Canada
