However, before you look at any other scholarships, all ETS students should look at the New Hampshire Charitable Scholarship Fund application to see if they are eligible. The application for 2025 will open in January and is due in April.

While this is a list of some of the top scholarships that ETS recommends, it is not a comprehensive list and there are MANY scholarships out there. Make sure to continue to meet with your ETS advisor once you have submitted your college applications so that they can help you apply to as many scholarships as possible! Below are links to a few good "Scholarship search engines," to help you identify additional scholarship opportunities. Additionally, most high school counseling offices post scholarship opportunities either in their office or school website!

Other Resources-
NH Community College Emergency Fund- The Student Emergency Aid Fund is a partnership between The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges and Granite Edvance to support CCSNH students enrolled in a certificate, associate degree, or workforce development program who need short-term emergency financial support for non-tuition related expenses (i.e., food, housing, childcare, transportation, healthcare expenses, etc.) to remain enrolled and continue their educational journey.
Department of Labor Nursing Expansion Grant- Participants may be eligible to receive funding and support services that include:
- Scholarships for tuition for various nursing pathways: LNA, LPN, ASN, RN, BSN
- Support services based on individual need.
- Access to free career advising and coaching services

Criteria:
- Must be diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defect
- Recipient of heart transplant
- Be a family member of a person diagnosed with CHD
- Must live in New England
- Must be a senior in high school or enrolled in college with a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Be accepted full-time or part-time at an accredited 2 or 4-year college, university, or technical school in the US.
Applicant must submit:
- Letter of recommendation
- An essay 1-2 pages describing how living with CHD or having a family member with CHD has affected your life and how you live out the mission of It’s My Heart New England by educating, advocating for, or spreading CHD awareness.
March 30- Horatio Alger Career and Tech Scholarships
Award Amount: $2,500
Criteria:
- Have completed high school by July 1
- Plant to attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution by September
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete an associates degree, certificate, or diploma program that will lead to employment
- Not be enrolled in pre-requisite courses
- Demonstrate financial need
- $65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income OR pell grant eligibility
- Be under the age of 35
- Be a U.S citizen
March 31 - Walter and Pauline Calderwood Foundation
Award Amount:
Criteria:
- Strafford or carroll county, NH high school senior
- Current high school GPA and class rigor (minimum GPA of 3.0)

April 1 - Univ. of Southern Maine "Mountains to the Sea" Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,000-4,000
Criteria:
- Students must meet admissions criteria and be residents of NH or VT.
- Must apply for financial aid and attend school full time
- Students must enroll at USM full time in 12 credits per fall and spring semesters
April 1 - NEACAC Annual Essay Contest
Award Amount: $2,000 overall winner, and $1,000 per New England state
Criteria:
- High school juniors and seniors from NACAC-member high schools in New Hampshire, ME, MA, RI, VT
- Must submit 500 word essay
- Describe trusted mentor (counselor, teacher, coach, or peer) who has had the greatest impact on you decision to attend college
- How has this individual supported your education goals?
- Please reflect on their influence/effect on your college process.
April 3 - Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund/Early Application by 12 noon

Criteria:
- Must be be committed to a college or university for the 2025-26 school year and have received financial aid package from that college
- Must upload own college nad high school transcripts

- High school seniors who demonstrate outstanding potential for careers in STEM
- Students majoring in STEM fields of study

April 5 - Student Access Scholarship
Award Amount: $500
Criteria:
Must be a student in a TRIO program
- Based on need and overcoming adversity with no consideration of GPA
- Must be nominated by sponsoring TRIO staff member
April 11 - NH Charitable Foundation
Award Amount: varied amount
Criteria:
- Applicant must fill out one or more essay questions
- Submit names and emails of people who will submit their letters of recommendations
- Transcripts of school from the last five years
- Completed FAFSA application
April 15 - Student SAGE Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,000 grant
Criteria:
- Must be nominated by counselors, teachers, or school leader
- Must be planning to be enrolled at Russell Sage college
April 18 - FisherCats Foundation Scholar-Athlete Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,500
Criteria:
- Statement of commitment from school counselor
- Must provide class rank information
- To references (coaches, teachers, employers)
- 2-3 minute video with response to “How has participation in high school athletics shaped your life?”
- Must be planning on attending college in fall of 2025
April 19 - NH Association of Broadcasters Scholarship
Award Amount: $500
Criteria:
- Students who will attend and post-secondary institution
- Must be a child of a full-time station employee
April 30 - ASCE NH High School Scholarships
Award Amount: $1,000
Criteria:
- Must be a current senior at a NH high school
- Must have been accepted by a four-year engineering program
- Must write a two page max essay on the ASCE-NH scholarship topic

Award Amount: varied award amounts
Criteria:
- Must enter information about household, academic history, college choice, finances, and more.
- Upload files, including FAFSA, college aid package, and two essays
- Enter contact information on at least one recommender
Overview:
- A total of $750,000 in scholarships will be awarded to new and returning NH undergraduate students.
- You may apply to multiple scholarship categories, however, a new application must be completed for each submission.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for a Granite Edvance Scholarship, you must meet all of these criteria:
- Be a NH resident or will be a 2025 graduate of a New Hampshire high school.
- Will be enrolled at least half-time pursuing a certificate, associates or bachelor’s degree at a title IV eligible institution during the 2025-2026 school year.
- Demonstrate financial need*
- Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher at the time of application
- Applicants under the age of 18 years old must have a parent or guardian agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship if selected.
- Please Note: Prior Granite Edvance/NHHEAF Network Scholarship recipients are welcome to reapply.
*Financial need will be demonstrated by Student Aid Index from the FAFSA.
Available Scholarships
You may apply for multiple scholarships but will only be eligible to receive ONE.
1. Leadership & Community Service
Tell us about how you have demonstrated commitment to your community or showcased leadership skills through extracurricular activities, employment, volunteer work, academic programs, or other experiences.
2. Academic Excellence
Share your academic accomplishments with us. Please note that for this scholarship, GPA is given greater weight in the review process, but will also consider financial need and other curricular and extracurricular activities. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
3. 1st Generation College Student
This scholarship is for first-generation college students. A first-generation student is someone whose parents did not complete a bachelor’s degree. Please share with us how you have created opportunities for yourself and what a college education means to you.
4. Life Experience
This scholarship is an opportunity to share what makes you uniquely you. Tell us about an experience, talent, or life moment that has shaped who you are and prepared you to take the next step in your educational journey.
Application Timeline:
Registration opens on March 6, 2025. Registration for four-year students closes on May 7, 2025 at 4:59 pm EST, and registration for two-year and trade school students closes on July 9, 2025 at 4:59 pm EST.

May 13 - Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards
Award Amount: $1,000
Criteria:
- Volunteer projects that excel at significantly contributing to the improvement of environmental quality through protection, conservation, restoration, communication and/or stewardship of natural resources
- Demonstrate high achievement level
- Creating sustainable or reproducible results
May 13 - WiseChoice Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,500
Criteria:
- Must be legal resident of U.s
- Must be 13 years of age or older
- Must graduate high school
- Must answer the question “do you think the “college fit matters” in the college selection process?”
May 15- Hope Starts Here Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,500
Criteria:
- Applicant must be under the age of 21 prior to the due date
- Residing in NH at time of application
- Actively pursuing post secondary education

Criteria:
- This resource allows you to fill in the type of degree program in whichever location you choose and allows you to select certain eligibility requirements that best suits you!

Criteria:
- Must be resident of any of the 50 U.S states
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must be enrolled in college/university or registered in a qualified high school

June 1- Knight Essay Scholarship
Award Amount: $500-$6,000
Criteria:
- Must be U.S citizen or legal resident attending public, home school, private, or parochial school.
- Must write 800-1,200 word essay based on an event, person philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, of the framing of the US Constitution
June 10- Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,000
Criteria:
- Must be a high school senior OR junior OR registered in an accredited post secondary institution
- Must write 500-1000 word essay on the topic “Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.”
June 17 - Anthony Ramano and Vernon Kelley Memorial Scholarship
Award Amount: $500-$1,500
Criteria:
- Residents of NH who are graduating seniors of adults returning to education
- Must be interested in attending college or university in any state
- Must have been residents of an assisted housing program un NH for at least 12 month prior to applying
- Recipients can reapply for an additional year of funding
June 19- Big Sun Scholarship
Award Amount:$500
Criteria:
- Student athletes regardless of the sport they play
- Must be high school senior or be attending post secondary institute
