Why did you choose to become a hall director?
I really enjoyed my time being involved with Residence Life as an undergrad at NDSU. Even though I never was an RA, I was involved on the leadership side my entire time as a student and got to really know my Hall Directors. They always encouraged me to try my hardest and be my best self in everything I did both as a student and as a person. I learned a lot from my Hall Directors and wanted to be able to provide that same experience for new students and encourage them to grow into their best selves.
Why did you choose to work at Res Life at UNH?
From my very first interview, everyone in Res Life at UNH was so friendly and welcoming. Through the interview process, I got to see how much the staff cares about the students and strives to give them the best experience possible. I felt like Res Life at UNH was somewhere I could fit in being myself while also getting to help the students in ways I really hadn't been able to before. Once I got to experience campus and meet everyone in person, from staff to students, I knew I had to work here.
What advice would you give to students?
Your experience outside the classroom is just as important as your experience inside the classroom. College is a time for you to expand your horizons and learn both academically and personally to better prepare you for life after you graduate. Take those chances you never thought of taking before and I promise your college experience will be more enlightening and memorable than if you didn't.
