Who is eligible?
To be eligible for summer internship housing, you must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university other than UNH, who is participating in an education internship in the New Hampshire Seacoast area.
UNH students, who have a need for housing during a summer internship, should apply for summer housing.

Registration
The deadline for registration is May 4. When registering, please be prepared to upload the following documents:
- A written internship employment offer or written verification from your employer to confirm the internship.
- A confirmation letter from a higher education institution stating that you are a current and active student.
(Example: a letter from the housing department, registrar or a transcript of upcoming classes). - A letter on an official letter head from the institution in which you are actively enrolled stating that you are not suspended for disciplinary/conduct reasons, or the institutions equivalent status, for the period of occupancy, May to August 2025.
- During the registration process you will be able to select several add-ons, including linen packages and meal plans, at an additional cost.
For-Credit Internship
Please select this option if you are a non-UNH student and will receive course credit at your home institution for the educational internship you will be participating in while living at UNH.

Eligibility & Procedures
To qualify, you must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university, who is holding an internship in the NH Seacoast area. Spaces in Internship Housing are reserved for non-UNH students. UNH students who need on-campus housing for the summer can check eligibility and apply via Summer Housing.
Most summer interns staying with us are working from approximately May 19 to early August. Detailed information about move-in will be provided to each intern after applications are processed.
You will leave your keys and access card in a check-out envelope in the key box in the lobby or turn them in directly to Hall Staff upon your departure.
Each building is staffed with a live-on staff available if you should need somebody. Each intern will also be provided with instructions in case of lock outs, maintenance needs or other emergencies, when they arrive.
Interns living in UNH Summer housing will be required to read and agree to a Summer Housing agreement that can be found here.
Housing & Campus Amenities
Are the apartments and rooms furnished?
Yes, each bedroom is fully furnished with a twin XL bed, dresser, desk with chair, and closet space. Linen packet options are available through the registration process. Living rooms are also equipped with a sofa, love seat and chair or two full size couches, end table and coffee table. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, oven with stove, and a kitchen island with stools. Kitchens are NOT equipped with cookware or dishware.
All utilities are provided and included in the rate.
Yes, the building external doors are locked 24/7 and the only people with access will be registered residents, hall staff, and campus personnel with an approved reason. You will be provided with an access card which you may use to come and go from the hall as you please. Your individual apartment door is key entry, and you will be issued a key at move-in.
Is wi-fi included and how do I connect?
Yes, Wi-Fi is included, you will be able to easily access the UNH public Wi-Fi network. Find out general instructions on USNH’s knowledgebase section for Wireless Network.
Can I purchase a meal plan?
Yes! You will be able to add a meal swipe plan during the registration process. Our award-winning Holloway Commons dining hall will be open during the summer for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also have retail locations open which will serve food, such as the Dairy Bar, or you may purchase “cats cache” which are funds placed on your ID card and may be used towards food at locations both on and off-campus. Interns interested in purchasing or adding additional swipe once you are on-campus, can do so by visiting Campus Services.
Yes! The Hamel Recreation Center, housing our fitness center, is conveniently located in the heart of campus. Campus Recreation provides programs and facilities to support an active lifestyle. For information about Group Exercise classes, Outdoor Pool, Mendums Pond, and hours of operation visit the Campus Recreation website.
Parking & Transportation
Are the apartments and rooms furnished?
Yes! UNH offers convenient parking for summer interns who have a vehicle, and it is included in the cost of your stay with us.
Yes, the UNH campus has our very own Amtrak train station! Bus routes serving the campus and visiting local towns such as Dover and Portsmouth will also be running on a fixed schedule during the summer.
