Why did you choose to become a hall director?
After being an incredible three years as a Resident Advisor, I wanted to continue positively impacting the lives of students - the hall director job was the medium in which I could accomplish that most successfully! My prior supervisors had motivated me to seek out hall director roles and UNH was the perfect fit!
Why did you choose to work at Res Life at UNH?
The mission and values of the Residential Life at UNH resonated very deeply with me while I was doing initial research into the position. Once I had the pleasure of meeting all of the core staff, those values were showcasing themselves one by one in how the department operated, which solidified in my mind that UNH is the place that I want to work.
What advice would you give to students?
If there is a goal in your sights, it is surmountable. My biggest tip is to commit to the things in your life and work around the obstacles which are placed in your path - it is all too easy to get bogged down by an issue the size of a boulder, not knowing that you could just walk around it. If things don’t resonate with you, there is also no shame in dropping activities, clubs, or organizations. Spend your time doing things which fill your cup!
