Appointments

Current UNH students can make 2 appointments per week.

Drop-ins

The writing center takes drop-in appointments as we have staff available. We will not take a walk-in more than 30 minutes into the hour. To guarantee yourself an appointment, reserve an appointment on our schedule.

No Shows

If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled. In our scheduling system, if you No Show to 3 appointments, your account will be locked and you must contact the director  to ask that your account be re-opened.

Exam Writing

The writing center cannot assist with take home exams because it is difficult to ascertain if a faculty member is okay with collaboration on the exam. We can always, however, talk with a writer about a piece after you’ve received a grade and feedback from your instructor, helping you consider lessons to be learned for future writing.

A.I.

The CWC acknowledges generative AI as a potential tool that can be used by writers to make higher education more equitable and accessible. However, technology cannot replace human interaction, which is the heart of what we do in the Connors Writing Center. We firmly believe in fostering critical reading, writing, and thinking skills through process, and do not believe that generative AI will replace the writing process. We also recognize that these advancements have caused concern about academic honesty, originality, and critical thinking, and we will always defer to the syllabus of the course for guidance from the instructor on the acceptable level of AI usage for assignments.

The CWC will continue to welcome and facilitate conversations about the role of technology in student writing.  See our full policy language on working with A.I.

Printing

Printing your paper before you arrive for your appointment allows you to take full advantage of your conference time. Please make every effort to arrive at the writing center with two printed copies of your paper.
