Spring 2021 Semester in the City Fellow
Tyler Distefano

Tyler was a junior studying Political Science. He interned with Leading Cities, where he led global outreach projects to engage Smart City leaders in conversation and collaboration on best practices for designing the cities of the future. This internship helped him strengthen his ability to network and build community as well as broadened his perspective on the complexities of urban problems. He learned how innovators are working on solutions right now. Additionally, he learned about the vital role that Leading Cities plays in bringing these solutions to municipalities which can then implement them into our daily lives. Tyler wants to leverage his political science degree and interdisciplinary coursework background to build a career in public policy, sustainable entrepreneurship, or urban design. He hopes to use his experience from Semester in the City to guide his decision for graduate school, where he hopes to continue his education and specialize further into his interests.
