The Sustainability Institute coordinates Food Solutions New England, a regional, six-state network that unites the food system community around a shared set of values – democratic empowerment, racial equity and dignity for all, sustainability, and trust – and strengthens the movement’s ability to achieve New England Food Vision goals. The network envisions a powerful food movement that democratically transforms New England’s food system so that it is sustainable, just, and resilient.
Food Solutions New England is a distributed network made up of people, organizations, businesses, and other groups across New England who are committed to a shared vision and values for the regional food system. Anyone doing this work is considered part of the network. Consider signing the FSNE Pledge to be actively involved in this collective effort.
The work of the network, focusing on various impact areas, is coordinated by a small “backbone team” of staff based at the UNH Sustainability Institute, guided by a Steering Committee that meets monthly, and a broader Network Team drawn from network participants.
Food Solutions New England’s efforts are funded by gifts and donations while also benefitting from significant in-kind support from the University of New Hampshire.
