Matthew Oriente ‘23

Spring 2021 SITC @ UNH Fellow
Matt Oriente

Matt was a sophomore from Bucks County, Pennsylvania studying Business Administration with a dual major in Sustainability when he participated in SITC @ UNH. On campus, he was involved in Net Impact, Rotaract Club, and the UNH 3:00 Jazz Band. He was a Changemaker Coach for the Changemaker Collaborative, a Paul Scholar at the Peter T. Paul College for Business and Economics, and an Academic Tutor for the UNH Athletic Department. Matt’s interest in corporate sustainability steered him to participate in the Social Venture Innovation Challenge during his freshman and sophomore years, earning awards for his team’s project. During spring semester 2021, Matt was the Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Investment Fellow with SITC  @UNH. Matt worked with the UNH Foundation and Prime Buchholz LLC, where he was responsible for conducting research that aids the Committee on Investor Responsibility and Finance Committee for the Foundation, as well as for creating student-facing outreach materials that provide an overview on what sustainable investing means. He was most excited about learning information about how investments are deemed sustainable in addition to understanding how such committees and funds function in a university setting. Semester in the City strengthened Matt’s experience and knowledge, aiding him in his academic studies and career development while at UNH.
