Christina was a graduate student in the Master of Public Policy program within the Carsey School. She began her career with a BFA in Graphic Design, freelancing briefly before working as a teacher while earning an MSEd and later becoming chair of the Visual Art department. Christina infused her teaching and design work with environmental sustainability principles. After years of volunteering with grassroots groups, she experienced a pivotal moment, traveling to D.C. for a day of lobbying as a volunteer on the executive committee of the Surfrider Foundation's New Hampshire Chapter. It was after that trip that Christina decided to embark on a new career path in policy. She continues to volunteer with Surfrider's New Hampshire chapter as Secretary and Rise Above Plastics Coordinator, focusing on advocacy for local, state, and federal policies surrounding the reduction of single-use plastics.
Christina joined the Sustainability Institute as a Sustainability Planning intern. She worked to synthesize data from UNH's many sustainability programs and to create a dashboard to help inform a new ten-year sustainability plan. She looked forward to blending her background in design, education, and communication with the skills she acquired through the Carsey School to inform future goals and policies for the university.
