Fall 2020 Semester in the City Fellow
Brittany Livingston

Brittany Livingston was a Senior Anthropology major at The University of New Hampshire. She had participated in the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) at UNH exploring ways to better develop recycling programs in Durham, NH to improve UNH's campus life, as well as being a student curator at Portsmouth's Discovery Center Museum contributing to the creation of "Obama: An Ancestral Legacy" exhibit. Brittany interned at Union Capital Boston and was most excited to build professional connections and help in contributing to the social capital of the Boston community. She hoped to gain professional development skills and explore the city of Boston while participating in Semester in the City. Brittany is interested in this type of work because of her passion of becoming an Applied Anthropologist for a future career, who would work to solve real world problems by using anthropological methods and ideas. For example, they may work in local communities to help solve problems related to health, education or the environment, just as the work behind Semester in the City encompasses.
