Amina Grant

2020 Sustainability Fellow - Municipal Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory | City of Concord, NH
Amina Grant

Amina completed her Fellowship with the City of Concord, NH. She focused on defining the baseline greenhouse gas emissions through two separate lenses: (1) local government operations and (2) community-wide accounting. Her findings will help the City government prioritize emissions reduction strategies that are cost-effective, reach the city’s commitments and global greenhouse gas targets, engage stakeholders in reducing emissions, and develop a climate action plan. The Fellowship was a valuable experience for Amina because she learned firsthand how a local government addresses sustainability and how data science can influence policy and action. Following her Fellowship, Amina returned to finish up her last year of graduate school at the University of Iowa and pursue a career in data science and research on sustainability and environmental health.
