Betty Woodman

Faculty Engagement Fellow, Sustainability Institute; Faculty Member Sustainability Dual Major

Dr. Betty Woodman is Faculty Engagement Fellow at UNH’s Sustainability Institute and faculty member for the UNH Sustainability Dual Major (SDM). In addition to her work at UNH, Betty is the Founding Partner of Next Level Partnership, LLC, where she consults with businesses on leadership, thriving workplaces, and sustainability strategy. Betty was a member of UNH’s Paul College’s management faculty for five years where she collaborated with philosophy faculty to design and teach the interdisciplinary Business Ethics course, a faculty member of the Maine Business School at the University of Maine in Orono, and a research and teaching fellow at Emory University.

Betty has degrees in engineering, philosophy, and applied ethics, culminating with her Ph.D. from Emory University with dissertation on sustainability mindset and flourishing. Previously, Betty worked in executive management, engineering, sales, and international corporate education in the computer and technology industries for IBM, Applied Physics Research, Chromatek, and PTC. She has board of directors and volunteer service with children’s, family violence, and transitional housing programs in California and Georgia, including Next Door Solutions in California and Homestretch, Children’s Restoration Network, Partnership against Domestic Violence, Men Stopping Violence, Women’s Resource Center, and the Atlanta Women’s Prison in Georgia, along with her previous firm, The Think It Real Company, Inc, which provided empowerment programs for children living in foster group homes.
