Changemaker Fellow
Kai Parlett Headshot

Kai was a first-year student majoring in Earth Science and Political Science. Prior to coming to UNH, she took a gap year and worked for 350 New Hampshire – a local grassroots environmental justice organization. Kai was also a part of the “No Coal No Gas” campaign – a regional coalition working to end fossil fuel use in New England beginning by shutting down the Merrimack Generating Station in Bow, New Hampshire. On campus, she was a part of the ski racing club in the winter and enjoyed going to soccer games with her friends. Kai applied for the Changemaker Fellowship because of her passion for environmental justice and sustainability. She was also excited to meet other like-minded and equally motivated students. She hopes to become an environmental lawyer with the intent to hold the fossil fuel industry legally accountable for their actions and to defend climate activists who are arrested in nonviolent direct actions.
