Career Planning

Scholar

As a TRIO Scholar, you will work closely with your Educational Counselor to develop a career plan.

Applying for Jobs/Internships

As a TRIO Scholar, you will be supported as you search for jobs or internships through both one-on-one meetings with your Educational Counselor/Academic Coach and workshops. This includes:

  • Finding jobs/internships –utilizing job search websites (such as LinkedIn or Handshake), exploring jobs for your major, breaking down what job descriptions really mean
  • Networking – exclusive networking events, access to the UNH TRIO Scholars LinkedIn Group, information and resources for informational interviewing, building your LinkedIn profile
  • Job/internship applications – resume building, interview preparation, cover letter writing, negotiation skills
UNH TRIO Scholars LinkedIn Group

All alumni and current students in the TRIO Scholars Program are invited to join our new UNH TRIO Scholars LinkedIn Group! This group is where students and alumni can connect, to learn about potential job and internship openings, information about the job and internship hunt, networking opportunities, and more. If you are a current student or alumni of the UNH TRIO Scholars Program, please email Linsey Koeritz-Madanamohanan to be added to the group.

Professional Development

You will work with your Educational Counselor to:

  • Develop your career goals – including participating in experiences (such as internships, clubs, study abroad, etc.) at UNH that will inform your goals
  • Understand the entry requirements for your desired career – and create a plan during your time at UNH to meet those requirements
  • Learn the career pathways of professionals in your field – including exploring the types of jobs that people with your major do
  • Build confidence in your ability to enter a career

For current TRIO Scholars:
