Who We Are

The Memorial Union Board of Governors, also known as MUBOG, is an integral subsidiary of the Undergraduate Student Senate and plays a crucial role in the Memorial Union Building (MUB) governance. MUBOG is responsible for providing student opinions on the activities and operations of the MUB. Since 1968, MUBOG has been the backbone of the MUB, offering oversight and structural support for over 200+ student organizations at UNH. From running the space allocation process to organizing the Student Leadership Awards and advising the MUB on programming events, MUBOG is an invaluable hub for student leaders and organizations. The Memorial Union Board of Governors is led by the MUBOG Chairperson who oversees the day-to-day operations of the Board and its members. Students and administrators, who are a part of MUBOG, are dedicated members of the UNH community and work to develop policies and suggest improvements to the Memorial Union & Student Activities Department to enhance the experience within the MUB.

How We Work

While the Memorial Union Board of Governors (MUBOG), the Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC), and the Undergraduate Student Senate all operate under the umbrella of student governance at UNH, each serves a distinct role. In simple terms: MUBOG focuses on Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) around the MUB.

Our business is separated into several subcommittees under MUBOG, that work to develop recommendations on specific topics or issues. Once a recommendation is finalized, it is sent to the general body of MUBOG. An approved recommendation from the MUBOG Board is then communicated to the Memorial Union & Student Activities administrators who use the opinion of the MUBOG as a guide for constructive criticism and guidance.
