Enthusiastic, well-prepared faculty igniting alumni pride in UNH.
Faculty igniting alumni pride
Alumni feel pride for their alma mater. Pride is significantly reinforced when alumni learn about faculty's ground-breaking research and contributions to the global knowledge economy. It helps keep UNH relevant in their lives.
Training
A yearly workshop equips UNH faculty with strategies to successfully engage alumni in their research. Training further prepares faculty for discussions with alumni.
The training includes hands-on and interactive activities. Faculty practice communicating complex research stories to alumni. They practice strategically connecting by asking key questions and recognizing valuable information to share. The result is Faculty Ambassadors who confidently attend events and advance UNH's goals.
Faculty benefit by identifying alumni mentors for their students, speakers for their classes, and student job opportunities. They have also made connections that advance their research and philanthropic efforts.
Events
Alumni Relations has several events where Faculty Ambassador participation is welcome and appreciated. Ambassadors are asked to attend two (2) events per year. Faculty presence at events builds and reinforces key UNH relationships.
Sample events:
- Seacoast Regional Receptions
- UNH Reunion Weekend
- Boston Executive Forum
- UNH Arts on the Road
- Student/Alumni Networking Events

"I have been fascinated and honored to meet alumni at events and learn about the bonds they share with UNH through connections that sometimes span generations. I have found them to be passionate about giving their time, listening to student and program success stories and working with the university to take it to the next level. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this wonderful institution.”
