Program Review

The Program Review process is designed to guide the self-assessment and development of academic programs on a continuous basis. Program Reviews support the University’s commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality academic programs, creating a culture of continuous improvement, and adhering to the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) accreditation standards.

The purpose of a program review is to evaluate the health and performance of a program, including major accomplishments, program quality, rigor,  relevancy, sustainability, and achievement of student outcomes for the purposes of improvement and accountability. Assessment of student learning outcomes/department goals should be a major part of data collected and analyzed as part of periodic improvement. Program reviews address the following questions:
          A. How well is the program/department executing its mission?
          B. What is the quality, rigor, and sustainability of the program under review?
          C. How relevant is the program for the intended audience?
          D. What data are informing decisions?
          E. How can the program be improved and what action steps are planned

Department chairs have access to data dashboards to begin the self-study process. If you are completing a Program Review and you are not a department chair, please connect with your chair to get the data you are seeking. If you are a department chair and have questions about the dashboards, please contact (institutional.research@unh.edu).
