Engagement Initiatives

Our Physical Space

The Beauregard Center is a safe and welcoming space for all students. Our newly updated Center suite offers study areas, laptop workstations, whiteboards, and laptop check out. It’s a great space for students to hang out with friends, focus on homework or just relax.  We facilitate most of our programs and community building through our physical space.

In our Fall 2022 needs and opportunities assessment, our physical center space was repeatedly identified as a strength. The Center layout, furniture, and IT equipment were all updated in response to student input and maximizing effective and efficient use of space. These updates to the physical space have increased student presence and engagement in the Center.

Community Building

The Diversity Support Coalition (DSC) and its member organizations are housed within, and supported by, the Beauregard Center. As a result, the DSC and its member organizations use the Beauregard space to hold their weekly meetings and often host their after-hours events here, making the Beauregard Center buzz with activity at all times of the day. We are excited to have the opportunity to share our space with students so they may have a dedicated place to be in community with one another.

Community Gathering and Self Care Activities

It is important for us to be able to host intentional and regular opportunities for our students to come together in community, connect with people across campus, and establish intentional self-care habits. Community gathering events are integral avenues for our students to build strong relationships and spend time with one another.

ThirsTea Thursdays

ThirsTEA Thursdays

ThirsTea Thursday is a bi-weekly brain break event designed for students to destress and build community. Each event provides a relaxing no-pressure environment for participants to connect, engage in international self-care, share some light refreshments, and engage in an activity. ThirsTea Thursdays are open to students, and faculty and staff are invited to stop by! For more information, visit our Instagram.
