The Piano Extension Program (PEP) has been providing piano lessons and music education to area students of all ages and levels at a reasonable rate since 1996. Founded by the late Arlene Kies, piano lessons at the PEP are taught by a qualified roster of teachers. Participants can choose to enroll with any of the following teacher types:
At the end of each semester, students have the opportunity to perform in a recital. Please note that the Piano Extension Program follows the university's academic schedule. There are no lessons during the summer.
Space is limited. After enrolling, students are paired with their teachers by the PEP Director. Adult students or the parent/guardian will receive an email from their teacher to schedule their lessons. Please review the PEP Welcome Letter/Important Dates and the PEP Policies documents on the program website: PEP
Families registering more than one child at the same time through a Family Account can receive a 10% discount. You must have two or more children's enrollments in your cart for the discount to be available. We recommend logging into your Family Account first and then putting the session in your cart. Once all enrolling children have been added to the cart, click on 'Apply a Discount' in the cart and select the 'pepsib' discount in the drop down. Only one discount can be used per enrollment and payment, and the discount must be applied upon initial enrollment for all children. It cannot be applied after enrollment is complete.
Drop requests should be made directly to the program director: rebecca.austin-bolster@unh.edu This does not guarantee a refund but alerts us that a drop has been requested. The director will contact the adult student or parent shortly after receiving the drop request. A cancelled enrollment will be refunded (minus a $50 administrative fee) within 14 days of the session start date. Within 14 days of the session start date, no refund is provided.
Lessons are held at the Paul Creative Arts Center (PCAC), 30 Academic Way, Durham NH. Additional information including program drop off and pick up locations are sent directly from program staff.

Online Registration Instructions: Review before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either your Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.
If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. If creating a new student/individual account, the account must be in the name of the child, but the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian.
CampDoc: UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process. Enrollments and payments will still be done here through our current enrollment system, but no registration questions will be required at that time. Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the Student or Family Account will receive an email prompting completion of the registration questions.
Due to very brief timelines between enrollment and the program start date, it is important that the adult student or parent/guardian of a minor student respond to the CampDoc email and complete the registration questions promptly. Even if the student already has a CampDoc account, the adult student or parent/guardian of a minor student must log into the student’s account to review/update information, complete any necessary questions for this program and re-sign some waivers. A participant’s CampDoc profile must be 100% complete before they can begin lessons.
For adult PEP students, some of the CampDoc questions may not seem applicable. Please answer all required questions the best you can.
