Youth Learn to Boulder

Learn to Boulder is a 3-week program geared to climbers of all skill levels.  The program allows climbers to enhance coordination, strength and focus through games and activities on the Hamel Recreation Center's Bouldering Wall. There are two sessions: one for students in Grades 2-6 and one for students in Grades 7-10.

Space is limited - enroll early to guarantee your spot!

Each session offers an overview of body movement, footwork, falling, and spotting followed by guided practice. Sneakers are required.

All sessions are held at the UNH Hamel Recreation Center, 5 Edgewood Rd., Durham, NH. Additional information including drop off and pick up will be sent via email from the Campus Recreation staff the day before the session begins.

Campus Recreation does not offer refunds for Learn to Boulder, including missed sessions.

Online Registration Instructions: Review before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. If creating a new student/individual account, the account must be in the name of the child, but the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian.

CampDoc: UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process. Enrollments and payments will still be done here through our current enrollment system, but no registration questions will be required at that time. Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the Student or Family Account will receive an email prompting completion of the registration questions.

Due to very brief timelines between enrollment and the program start date, it is important that a parent/guardian respond to the CampDoc email and complete the registration questions promptly. A parent/guardian must log into the student’s account to review/update information, complete any necessary questions for this program and re-sign some waivers. A participant’s CampDoc profile must be 100% complete before they can attend the program.

For more information, including the CampDoc Support Line, review our “CampDoc” page.
