UNH Youth Programs

Fall 2024

Private swim lessons (one participant) are available for children ages 3-13 who need individual attention, have special needs, learn better in a one-on-one environment, or have unique scheduling needs. Students must be at least 3 years old.

Private lessons are 30 minutes in length and can be purchased in blocks of 4 or 8 lessons:

• Block of 4 lessons = $135 per student
• Block of 8 lessons = $230 per student

Please read the following information thoroughly!

Registration Information:

• Students must be at least 3 years old at the start of lessons.
• Space is limited - enroll early to guarantee your spot!
• Private lesson registration opens on the following Wednesdays at 7pm:
  • Session 1: Wednesday, October 9 at 7pm: 4 and 8 Block available. These blocks are FULL.
  • Session 2: Wednesday, October 23 at 7pm: 4 Block only. This block is FULL.
  • Session 3: Wednesday, November 6 at 7pm: 4 Block only
• Please review the Online Registration Instructions before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling a child or children in any UNH youth program. Note: if you have an account in our system already, you will be asked to log into either a family or student account. Be sure you know which account you have and know your user name and password. This will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Do not create another account if you have one already.
  If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. When you create a new account, the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian, not the participating student.
• Click the '+' sign on the block(s) on the right, if available, to enroll. If using a mobile device, the block(s) may appear on the bottom of the page. The session blocks will indicate whether there are openings (i.e. "Enroll Now/Add to Cart"). If the session is full or the session block does not appear, choose the other lesson block (if open) or enroll during the next session's registration period. Please note that enrollment caps and deadlines are in place to control the quantity of lessons and to provide the best level of response and scheduling of lessons.
  • If you are on the website prior to 7pm and do not see the blocks appear, you may need to refresh the page. 
• Weekend dates may not be available every week due to event and facility closures.
• Full payment online via credit card is required at the time of enrollment.

Lesson Information:

• All lessons must be completed by December 10, 2024. Please take this into account when registering.
• Refunds are not provided for private lessons, including for any unfinished lessons.
• All lessons are held at the Swasey Indoor Pool at the UNH Field House, 145 Main St., Durham, NH. See below for Parking Information.

NEW for FALL 2024!

CampDoc: UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process. What this means for participants:

• Enrollments and payments are still be done here through our current enrollment system, but no registration questions will be required at that time. This makes enrolling quicker, more efficient, and gives families the opportunity to answer the registration questions at a more convenient time.
• Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the Student/Family Account will receive an email from "University of New Hampshire via CampDoc" prompting completion of the registration questions. Please complete this ASAP. Lessons cannot be scheduled until all questions are complete.
• You will be asked to indicate an anticipated swim level in the CampDoc registration questions. Consult the Swim Level Chart. If you are unsure what you or your child's swim level is, select 'unsure' during registration and the instructor will do a swim evaluation during the first lesson. 

How Lessons are Scheduled:

• Scheduling day/time preferences are asked as part of the CampDoc registration questions. Families must choose at least two available days/times.
• Once the CampDoc registration questions are complete, the Swim Lesson Coordinator will make initial contact via email. This initial contact cannot occur until the student's CampDoc profile is 100% complete. Timely completion will ensure that lessons can begin promptly and be concluded before the required end date.
• Final lesson days & times are arranged between the instructor and parent/guardian once paired with an instructor.

Parking Information:

Pay & Display parking is available at a few locations near the Field House:

• Sage Way Visitor Lot at 20 Sage Way
• Edgewood Road Visitor Lot at 5 Edgewood Rd

Families with students taking a lesson after 6pm may park for free in Lot A, located across from the Field House on Main St., as ticketing concludes at 6pm. Parking in Lot A before 6pm may result in being ticketed.
