The online application portal for SURF IT will open in February 2025.
Working together, student teams should complete one Proposal and one Budget (if requesting expense funds). Designate one team member to upload the Proposal and Budget through the main online application portal. This should be the same student representative who completes and signs the top portion of the SURF IT Mentors Joint Letter of Support form.
Follow the instructions for a GROUP SURF project in the online intake process. The main application intake form will ask for the UNH email addresses of additional team members. Once the main application is submitted, the additional team members will receive an email linking them to a separate intake form to gather their contact information. Teams should plan to submit the main application in plenty of time to allow for the additional team members to complete their individual intake forms. ALL forms must be completed and submitted by the application deadline.
A complete SURF IT application includes:
- Application Intake Form for each team member: To be completed through the online application portal as described above
- Proposal: See Proposal Requirements in the Application Guidelines. Save as a PDF to be uploaded to the online application portal. Use this naming format, listing as many student last names as are on your team (from 2-4 names): Lastname_Lastname_Lastname_Lastname_SURF IT_Proposal
- Budget: Review the Budget Instructions, then complete and save the fillable Budget form as a PDF to be uploaded to the online application portal. Use this naming format, listing as many student last names as are on your team (from 2-4 names): Lastname_Lastname_Lastname_Lastname_SURF IT_Budget
- UNH Faculty Mentors Joint Letter of Support: Complete the top portion of the SURF IT Faculty Mentors Joint Letter of Support form and give the form to your mentors well in advance of the application deadline. Your mentors will be responsible for uploading the form and their letter to the online portal no later than the application deadline.
- UNH Faculty Recommendation (non-mentor): Each student team member should complete the top portion of the SURF IT Faculty Recommendation Form and give the form to their individual UNH faculty recommender well in advance of the application deadline. Your faculty recommender will be responsible for uploading the form and their letter of recommendation to the online portal no later than the application deadline.
