In summer 2017, Dan Birnstihl (Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems '18) conducted research at the Macfarlane Greenhouse in Durham, with funding from an Undergraduate Research Award (URA). His research focused on controlling the growth of hydroponic crops including herbs and vegetables. After graduating from UNH, Dan took a full-time position as farm manager at a new farm-to-table restaurant, Hip Peas Farm, in Hooksett, New Hampshire.
