 Deadlines & policies effective 7/1/24  -  Refunds are NOT automatic; they must be requested by established deadlines.

STUDENT PERMITS

Eligibility

During FULL REFUND PERIODS a refund may be request for any reason.
During PARTIAL REFUND PERIODS a refund may be requested for reasons limited to:

  • Official withdrawal, approved leave of absence, or academic suspension from university.
  • Involvement in a University-sponsored study abroad program or internship that makes it impossible to commute to campus.
  • Major change in circumstance (as determined by the University) beyond the student's control has occurred.

Ineligible reasons include, but are not limited to:

  • Disciplinary suspension.
  • Permit inappropriately obtained.
  • Don’t like where the assigned parking is/changed mind.

EMPLOYEE, NON-STUDENT, OTHER PERMITS

Payroll deduction

"Refunds"  for faculty/staff permits purchased or renewed using Payroll Deduction options are limited to cancellation of any serialized deductions (e.g. three payments of $25) not already processed, but shall not be subject to the $10 cancellation fee.  Once all serialized deductions are processed there is no refund for partial-term use.

Other

Other employee and non-student permits cannot be credited or refunded for partial-term use.
Temp, day, hourly, meter payments, event passes, etc. are not ordinarily refundable.


    NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REFUND - OTHER POLICIES

    • Student permits purchased during the Semester I sales period returned/canceled after Jan. 31.
    • Student permits purchased during the Semester II sales period returned/canceled after Feb. 28(9).
    • Permits purchased during the J-term or summer sales periods canceled/returned after the first two weeks of those respective sessions.
    • Exclusions to the above for permits returned/canceled within 2 weeks of purchase.
    • Shipping and handling fees applied to online sales are not refundable.
    • Permits obtained by ineligible purchasers are not refundable.
    • Temp, day, hourly, meter payments, event passes, etc. are not ordinarily refundable.
    • Refunds can only be offered to individuals with no outstanding parking tickets.
    • All processed refunds subject to a $10 refund processing fee.
    • Refunds are NOT automatic; they must be requested by established deadlines.

    If your eligibility or desire to hold a permit changes during the permit term FOR ANY REASON, your permit becomes invalid without automatic refund or exchange. There is no refund for partial-term use of a parking permit, except under limits defined by the permit refund policy. LIMITED adjusted refunds are available with deadlines, and are dependent on permit type/time of purchase and reason for request.

    REFUND REQUESTS TRIGGER THE CANCELLATION OF YOUR PERMIT WHEN THE REQUEST IS SUBMITTED!  DO NOT SUBMIT A REFUND REQUEST IN ADVANCE OF WHEN YOU WISH YOUR PERMIT TO CONCLUDE (i.e. wait until after December 1 to request a refund for Semester II).

    By checking this box, you indicate your understanding that you are requesting to have your UNH parking permit canceled, and a refund issued.  You further understand that refund amounts are adjustable by the proportion applicable at the time of the request (e.g. full, 40%), that all refunds will be adjusted for a $10 refund processing fee, and that any S&H fee from an online order is non-refundable.  You understand that all cancellation/refunds are final, and that by cancelling your permit you are not entitled to any advance priority in getting a replacement permit later on.  You understand that once submitted, your permit is no longer valid, and must be removed from your vehicle, destroyed and discarded, or returned to the parking office.
