COVID Disinfection Guidelines for Researchers

Disinfection Procedures/Guidelines for Researchers

Regular decontamination of all highly touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, shared tools, car door handles, etc is recommended.  When using an EPA-registered disinfectant, follow the label directions for safe, effective use. Make sure to follow the contact time, which is the amount of time the surface should be visibly wet

Currently wipes may be obtained by Essential Researchers by reaching out to EHS and Facilities . Some researchers may choose to generate their own decontaminant. All decontaminants must meet the CDC criteria for COVID-19.   The Enviornmental Health and Safety Office  has prepared  a summary of the  common disinfectants available to members of the University and the respective contact times.

Please Note: If generating your own bleach solutions, these solutions must be made fresh daily.
