OLLI Volunteer Philosophy
OLLI at UNH volunteers are significant assets of our learning community as well as the overall succcess and sustainability of the organization. OLLI brings its mission and values to life with a commitment to support volunteer engagement through all aspects of programming. OLLI creates and sustains a culture that provides volunteers the opportunity to use their skills, creativity, and dedication to fulfill productive, supported roles.
OLLI recognizes and affirms a shared leadership model between staff and volunteers that expands the capacity of the organization to serve a larger community throughout the state. It is intended to ensure that the volunteer leadership have a say through their role as advocates who represent the best interest of the membership.
OLLI is a program that welcomes the skills, talents and expertise that you may have gained in a former position or a recent hobby or interest.
Since we are a member-driven program there are many ways you can contribute. Do you like to cook or work at home on spreadsheets? Were you a teacher and miss being in front of a class? Maybe you just need a reason to get out of the house! OLLI is built on a premise that volunteerism helps adults stay active and purposeful – additionally, your time helps support programs and activities designed for you!
