The holidays are a busy time, distracting and hectic. In the world of Internet crime, scammers look for these very opportunities to send out fraudulent emails in the hope of stealing personal information with increased phishing, website hacks and other attempts.
USNH Information Security Services is urging faculty and staff to remain vigilant at work and at home, since more time online means increased risks.
As much as technology has evolved, most scammers still rely on the cheapest method: phishing. Be suspicious of unfamiliar email senders. Never click on links in unfamiliar emails or open attachments you are not expecting.

To report a suspected information security incident, email USNH Information Security Services at it.security@unh.edu
For incident reports requiring immediate attention during regular business hours, call UNH IT’s service desk at 2-4242. After university business hours, call UNH Police’s dispatch at 2-1427. When calling about a time-sensitive incident, please ask the service desk staff or dispatcher to alert the UNH information security officer.
