Wilcox Industries Founder Speaks at UNH CEO Forum Jan. 23

Jim Teetzel, founder of Wilcox Industries, will speak at the next meeting of the University of New Hampshire CEO Forum Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.

DURHAM, N.H. - Jim Teetzel, founder of Wilcox Industries, will speak at the next meeting of the University of New Hampshire CEO Forum Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at 9 a.m. The program begins at 8 a.m. in Huddleston Hall with coffee and networking, with a full breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

Teetzel will discuss the background, history and philosophy of his Newington-based company and share techniques he uses in the management of capital, equipment and research and development.

Teetzel founded Wilcox Industries in 1978 to provide manufacturing services to the aerospace, medical, and defense industries. Raytheon Missile Systems, GE Aircraft Engines, Textron Lycoming, and Johnson & Johnson were among its first customers.

In 1992, the company began developing its own product line, initially inventing an integrated laser system for a handgun adapted by the U.S. Navy. The product line evolved into a diverse complement of tactical equipment that would be by the U.S. Special Forces.

Teetzel holds numerous patents relating to the defense industry. He attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology where he studied mechanical engineering.
