DURHAM, N.H. - More than 45 employees have submitted their work for the second University of New Hampshire staff art exhibition, opening Sept. 13, 2013, at the UNH Museum in Durham.

"In the Company of Artists: An Exhibition of Art and Fine Crafts by UNH Staff" kicks off with a reception at the museum Friday, Sept. 13, from 4-6 p.m. All are invited to attend.

The juried exhibit includes works by 48 faculty and staff in various media including photography, sculpture, painting, collage, pottery, and textiles. Curator Dale Valena remembers the first exhibit, held five years ago, as being one the museum's most popular events.

"It was exciting to see participating artists visit with their colleagues. It's a feel-good kind of exhibit that shows off the talent in our working university community," Valena says. "I had no idea how much talent was among us. It's exciting to see what some people do when they are not working at UNH."

Faculty and staff from approximately 26 departments and offices across campus are participating.

The exhibition will run through Dec. 13, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. The museum is closed UNH holidays. For more information call 603-862-1081 or visit www.izaak.unh.edu/museum.
