DURHAM, N.H. - Homecoming Weekend at the University of New Hampshire is set for Oct. 11-13, 2013. Alumni, family and friends will attend sporting events, a parade, bonfire and other activities that have become hallmarks of the fall reunion.

Highlights of the weekend schedule follow:

Friday, Oct. 11:

Noon: The Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics hosts a seniors' lunch at noon with keynote speaker Garrett Ilg '83, global leader, head of enterprise sales and field operations for Adobe. A business panel discussion takes place from 2-4:00 p.m., followed by a cocktail party from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

2-5 p.m.: TheInternational Research Opportunities Program (IROP) symposium will feature research presentations by students who have studied around the world. Held in MUB Theaters I and II.

4:30: The Homecoming parade starts at 4:30 p.m. on Quad Way.

5 - 6:30 p.m.: Homecoming Tapas Hour at the UNH Art Gallery. Hosted by the University Honors Program, the Hamel Center for

Undergraduate Research and The Center for International Education/IA Dual Major. Check out the exhibits while enjoying sangria and tapas. All ages are welcome.

5 p.m.: Bon fire and BBQ along with live entertainment at Boulder Field. Fireworks follow at 7:30 p.m.

6 p.m.: Art reception, Dimond Library, Special Collections, featuring the paintings of John Angelopoulos and the poetry of UNH professor emeritus and Pulitzer

Prize winning poet Charles Simic.

7:30: Fireworks at Boulder Field.

Saturday, Oct. 12:

9 a.m.: Homecoming 5K road race begins in front of the Field House. T-shirts for the first 300 registered runners. $15 before Oct. 9; $18 after. Check-in begins at

7:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Whittemore Center.

9 a.m.-11 a.m.: Annual Greek Life pancake breakfast, in the Strafford Room of the Memorial Union Building, $2 for kids, $5 for adults. Proceeds go to the Durham Public Library.

9:30 a.m.: Annual tailgating cook-off, Boulder Field. Get to Boulder Field early and fire up the grill with your best Wildcat and tailgating themed recipes. Alum Greg Krestschmar '84, host of the wildly popular Greg & the Morning Buzz radio program (WHEB 100.3), and the Meat House will serve as judges in this year's contest. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and judging begins at 10 a.m.

Noon: Football, UNH vs. Rhode Island at Cowell Stadium.

1-5 p.m.: Museum of Art exhibits "Touch the Earth" and "Caught up with Reality" at the Paul Creative Arts Center. "In Touch the Earth," features the works of ceramicists Al Jaeger, Warren Mather, Jonathan Mess, and Joan Walton. "Caught up with Reality" examines ways in which artists of late 19th and 20th-century America explored realism. Free admission.

7 p.m.: Men's soccer: UNH vs. Stony Brook, Bremner Field.

7 p.m.: Fall orchestra festival concert, Johnson Theater, Paul Creative Arts Center. UNH teams up with the New Hampshire chapter of the American String Teachers Association. High school string players from throughout N.H. will be joined by UNH woodwind, brass, and percussion students. The UNH Symphony Orchestra also will perform. Free admission.

7:30 -10:30 p.m.: UNH Observatory on Spinney Lane is open to the public. Weather dependent. Check the Observatory website for more information. Dressing in layers is highly recommended.

Sunday, Oct. 13

1-5 p.m.: Museum of Art "Touch the Earth" and "Caught up with Reality" exhibits continue at the Paul Creative Arts Center.

2 p.m.: Women's hockey, UNH vs. Maine

3 p.m.: Faculty Concert Series: "Go Like Sixty: Music of 1953", Bratton Recital Hall, Paul Creative Arts Center. Peggy Vagts, flute, will perform with Arlene Kies, piano. The program includes a premiere by Michael Annicchiarico, assisted by Janet Polk, bassoon, and Nicholas Orovich, trombone. Free admission.

7 p.m.: UNH Celebrity Series presents Stile Antico,an ensemble of young British singers now established as one of the most original and exciting new voices in its field, at Johnson Theater. For ticket information, call the PCAC Box Office at (603) 862-PCAC (7222) or purchase online here.
