DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire opened a new visitor parking and information center at the corner of Main Street and Edgewood Road Aug. 22. The lot is adjacent to New Hampshire Hall and across the street on the diagonal from Thompson Hall. It offers parking to campus visitors for up to four hours at a rate of $1/hour Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. (with holiday and seasonal adjustments). A booth attendant will be on duty during these enforcement hours to issue permits and provide general visitor information. Permits are cash only.

Parking is available to campus visitors only. Students, faculty, staff and other affiliates will not be admitted to this lot, but may find hourly parking in Lot C on Mill Road, at campus parking meters, or can inquire about extended permit eligibilities.

"Open" parking exists after hours and on weekends, with certain restrictions including the Winter Parking Ban, which closes this lot every night from Dec. 1 through April 1 from midnight to 6 a.m., regardless of weather conditions.

The visitor parking section is a distinct area partitioned from a faculty/staff parking area, Lot H; visitors need to be sure to turn into the visitor section beyond the attendant booth, and not park in the faculty/staff section.
