DURHAM, N.H. - Students in the culinary arts program at the University of New Hampshire's Thompson School of Applied Science will once again offer weekly themed meals to the public. Beginning Sept. 23, 2010, and for every Thursday evening thereafter until Dec. 9, the 180 Blue Restaurant in Cole Hall on the UNH campus will serve dinners featuring American cuisines from regions around the country. During the spring semester, the meals will take on an international flair.

The 180 Blue Restaurant will present an upscale dining experience created by second-year UNH culinary arts students. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests are allowed to bring their own spirits; the restaurant does not sell alcohol.

"Students participate in everything from planning the menus to buying the food to the preparation," says Charlie Caramihalis, associate professor and chair of the food service management program at the Thompson School.

Fall menus will feature food from, among other regions, New England, the mid-Atlantic, the Caribbean, Louisiana, and Hawaii. For a fixed price of $14, guests receive a choice of two appetizers, two entrée, a vegetable, bread and dessert. The 180 Blue Restaurant is located in Cole Hall 144 at the western edge of the UNH campus. Parking is available in the visitor's lot adjacent to the building and is free after 5 p.m.
