Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to share that after an extensive national search we will welcome Pelema Morrice as our vice provost for enrollment management. He will start Sept. 5. Pelema emerged as the top choice among a very competitive candidate pool. In this new role, Pelema will report to me as we seek to more closely align enrollment management and academic affairs. His experience with national models for recruitment and the application of data analytics will be key to providing vision, leadership and management for all aspects of the student-centric enrollment process including admissions, registrar and financial aid.
Pelema comes to us from Great Bay Community College where he has served as president for the past year. While there, he led a comprehensive reorganization of the college’s leadership structure and led efforts to increase student retention. Prior to Great Bay, Pelema was the vice provost for enrollment and strategic development at the University of Missouri. At Missouri, he led the development and launch of the university’s first strategic enrollment management committee as well as the university’s first integrated strategic enrollment management plan. Pelema also worked at Bryn Mawr College and the University of Nebraska Omaha. He received his MBA from MIT and his doctorate from the University of Michigan.
I would like to thank Rob McGann for his leadership and service as the interim vice president for enrollment management throughout this past semester and summer as we conducted a national search. He will be returning to his role as director of admissions.
Please join me in welcoming Pelema to the UNH community.
Best regards,
Wayne Jones
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
