MEDIA ADVISORY: Legislative Day Highlights UNH’s Contributions to the State

WHAT: The second annual University Day showcases the University of New Hampshire’s educational offerings and the many ways its research, programs and outreach drive New Hampshire’s economy and improve the quality of life. In addition, Governor Chris Sununu will recognize the university’s 150th anniversary by declaring May, 2, 2017, University of New Hampshire Day.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

WHERE: State House Lawn, Concord

BACKGROUND: UNH President Mark Huddleston and Provost Nancy Targett will welcome legislators and guests in a brief opening ceremony. In addition, a proclamation from the governor and a resolution from the general court recognizing and celebrating UNH’s 150th anniversary will be read. Following the opening remarks visitors can learn about a variety of programs and initiatives that benefit the state from student research on bumblebee conservation and nutrition in public schools to natural resources protection and ocean mapping.
