UNH Police Investigate Residence Hall Fire

DURHAM, N.H. -- On Sunday, March 16, 2014, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the University of New Hampshire Police Department received a report of an extinguished fire in Richardson Hall. Upon investigation officers discovered materials consistent with a manufacturing effort involving marijuana, volatile solvents, and glassware. Criminal charges have not been filed but the incident is under investigation. The student involved no longer lives on campus.  

"I urge anyone with information about illicit drug activity in our community to contact the police department," said Police Chief Paul Dean. "This was a minor incident but it could have been much more serious. We will not tolerate this behavior on our campus and will work to keep every member of our campus safe."
