DURHAM, N.H. - The N.H. Author Series, hosted by the Friends of Dimond Library at the University of New Hampshire, will present New Hampshire humorist Rebecca Rule Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in the Dimond Library's 5th floor reading room.

Rule, who traditionally hosts the series, will be interviewed by author and former New Hampshire poet laureate Marie Harris.

Rule's new book "Moved and Seconded: Town Meeting in New Hampshire—the Present, the Past, and the Future," brings out the dry humor and wisdom of that venerable institution. Her short story collections include "The Best Revenge," selected by the University Press of New England for its Hardscrabble Series, and "Could Have Been Worse: True Stories, Embellishments, and Outright Lies," an exploration of the highly philosophical and often humorous state of "living Yankee."

The coauthor with Susan Wheeler of two how-to books, "Creating the Story" and "True Stories," Rule is best known for her live storytelling. She also has published a New Hampshire guidebook and dictionary.

The New Hampshire Authors Series interviews guests in the style of Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio, creating the sense of a one-on-one conversation between the interviewer and the guest. Interviews are recorded for broad­cast on New Hampshire Public Television and for web streaming at www.nhptv.org/authors.
