WHAT:   Members of the media are invited to attend an invitation-only forum on how to increase the number of STEM graduates in New Hampshire to meet workforce needs. The forum is hosted by the University of New Hampshire, University System of New Hampshire (USNH), and the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH).

WHEN:   Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

WHERE:  Emerging Technology Center, Pandora Building, 88 Commercial Street, Manchester

BACKGROUND:   Earlier this year USNH and CCSNH committed to doubling the number of STEM graduates in the Granite State by 2025. This forum is the first in a series of conversations that allow New Hampshire's finest educators to engage in a meaningful way with industry leaders and state legislators and work together to keep New Hampshire strong. 

Introductory remarks will be made by UNH President Mark Huddleston and Community College System of New Hampshire Chancellor Ross Gittell beginning at 10:15 a.m. The keynote speaker, Jay Labov, senior advisor for education and communications with the National Research Council, will begin at 10:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m. Governor John Lynch will moderate a panel discussion on the industry perspective followed by breakout sessions and report outs. Panelists are:

• Erica Johnson, Director, UNH Interoperability Lab 
• Joe Morone, President and CEO, Albany International Corp.
