Going Where the Need Is
Kathleen Kuhnly ‘16 is not afraid to admit she’s scared. Kuhnly is completely candid about the mix of excitement and trepidation she feels as she prepares to leave for Oklahoma City just two months after graduation as part of City Year AmeriCorps.
“I’m terrified, but I know it’s going to be the best thing for me because I don’t know exactly what I want to do yet, except that I want to help people,” Kuhnly says. She’s done just that at UNH, as a resident assistant, peer advisor and orientation leader.
Her advice to incoming UNH students: “Prepare to grow in ways that you never imagined,” she says, adding, “Never think you’re alone, because there are so many people here who care. Wildcats look out for each other.”
