XMA Corporation
A stop at XMA Corporation showcased some of the existing partnerships between the company, a leader in the manufacturing of thin-film resistive chips that can operate in ultracold conditions required for quantum computing, and UNH, and included Cyndee Gruden, dean of UNH’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, as well as Marc Eichenberger, associate vice president and chief business development and innovation officer at UNH Innovation.
XMA is one of the flagship companies in UNH’s Business Economic and Engagement (BEE) initiative that partners with businesses in the state to develop the workforce and economy by providing internship opportunities, hiring UNH grads and tapping into the expertise and capabilities of UNH faculty, students and facilities.
One of the presentations was led by one of those students, Logan McHaney ’23, an XMA intern who graduated from UNH just days prior to the tour.
“What I really enjoyed was that thread – at several stops today we were able to see alumni from UNH that are actively engaged and current students who are actively engaged,” says La Valley. “That was really rewarding, because I do believe that UNH really makes a difference in our communities.”
