Tom Alsip comes to UNH as an established director, actor and educator. He earned his B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and lived in New York City for 10 years working as an actor, director, voiceover artist and educator. Featured credits include the national tours of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.” He also worked as a director in New York, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas, including as co-director of an original off-Broadway musical. Alsip is a member of Actor’s Equity Association, Stage Director and Choreographer’s Society, Musical Theatre Educator’s Alliance, Southeastern Theatre Conference and serves on the editorial board of Southern Theatre Magazine, for which he has published several articles. He taught at New York University and LeMoyne College before earning his M.F.A. in directing from the University of Alabama. He spent two years teaching at Oklahoma State University while overseeing the creation of their musical theatre program.
