Seth Abramson

Assistant Professor of English

A graduate of Harvard Law School and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, Seth Abramson is a former attorney for the New Hampshire Public Defender, the series co-editor for Best American Experimental Writing, and a columnist covering popular culture and higher education for The Huffington Post, Indiewire, and Poets & Writers.

His books include Metamericana (BlazeVOX, 2015); Thievery (University of Akron, 2013), winner of the Akron Poetry Prize; Northerners (Western Michigan University, 2011), winner of the Green Rose Prize; and The Creative Writing MFA Handbook (Bloomsbury, 2008).

The recipient of the J. Howard and Barbara M.J. Wood Prize from Poetry and a former Koufax Award-nominated political blogger, his writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Boston Review, American Poetry Review, New American Writing, and many other venues.

Mr. Abramson is able to speak to the media on a wide range of topics in the arts, crime and law, education, history, politics, and family and community.
