Klein Marine Systems, a global leader in sonar technology based in Salem, New Hampshire, recently dedicated the Klein Sonar Innovation Lab at UNH’s John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center. The milestone strengthens Klein’s longstanding partnership with UNH’s Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping/Joint Hydrographic Center. As part of this initiative, Klein Marine Systems has loaned a cutting-edge sonar system to the university, providing students with hands-on access to industry-leading technology while ensuring that the next generation of marine scientists and engineers will be better prepared for future careers in the field.

“UNH’s engineering expertise, advanced resources and world-class testing facilities will be instrumental in shaping the future of sonar innovations. In fact, we are confident that the next generation of Klein sonar technology will be developed at our new Sonar Innovation Lab at the John Olson Center,” says Ted Curley, vice president and general manager of Klein Marine Systems.

“Klein has been a strong partner over the years, providing opportunities for our students to engage with them on developing and showcasing new technologies,” says Olson Center Director John Roth.
