UNH President James W. Dean Jr. delivered his final State of the University address to the UNH community from the Strafford Room in the Memorial Union Building on Tuesday, Feb. 13, focusing his message around three themes: purpose, progress and pride. He noted that this is a "pivotal moment for our institution, and for higher education more broadly" as new challenges continue to emerge, and used the progress portion of the address to highlight ongoing work in relation to the four strategic priorities he first outlined for UNH in 2019: Enhance Student Success and Well-being, Expand Academic and Research Excellence, Embrace New Hampshire and Build Financial Strength.
