UNH’s status as an R1 research university caught Violet Sullivan’s eye as a prospective student, and as a student researcher she realized exactly what it meant. A competitive distance runner, Sullivan '23 wondered if blood flow restriction, a common rehabilitative method primarily used in resistance training, could be applied to running.
She is now first author on a manuscript being submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal and she recently presented her findings at the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC). Sullivan received funding for her work through the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research.
