Northeast Passage has received a $25,000 commitment from Kennebunk Savings to support its programming in 2023, including adaptive sports programs for people with disabilities, active aging programs for seniors in southern Maine and similarity awareness inclusion programs in schools.
Northeast Passage programs provide opportunities for under-served populations to benefit from sports and recreation and to pursue active, healthy lifestyles. Kennebunk Savings has been a longtime supporter of Northeast Passage, and their executives and branch employees have had opportunities to experience adaptive sports like sled hockey, power soccer and wheelchair rugby and learn from Northeast Passage athletes.
“They live and breathe their culture of giving back to the community and want to truly understand the work that we do,” Jill Gravink, executive director of Northeast Passage says of Kennebunk Savings.
“We share a mission with Northeast Passage for more equitable and inclusive environments in all elements of society. The adaptive programs they provide are a vital link to an active and fulfilling lifestyle for their program participants,” says Bradford C. Paige, president and CEO of Kennebunk Savings. “In addition, their inclusion programming in schools builds bridges between peers in the classroom that extends to life outside of school and far into the future.”
