Change in effect as of Jan. 1, 2023

UNH Dining has gone cashless, effective Jan. 1, 2023. Acceptable forms of payment at all dining halls and campus cafés now include Dining Dollars, Cat’s Cache, debit and credit cards and mobile payments (Apple Pay and Google Pay).

The change reflects current transaction trends at UNH and should make for a smoother overall process, says Dorrie McClintock, director of conferences, catering and retail services, who noted that only about 5% of sales prior to the change had been cash.

“Students and guests today prefer to use credit cards or Apple Pay instead of cash,” McClintock says. “The majority of students elect to purchase meal plans, Dining Dollars and Cat’s Cache. Reducing cash improves operational and organization efficiency.”

Students paying with Dining Dollars receive a 5% discount at the register. QR codes have been placed on posters throughout campus so students can easily add money to their Cat’s Cache or Dining Dollars accounts, McClintock says.

Payments can also be made in-person at the Campus Services Office in the Memorial Union Building (MUB), at Wildcat Deposit Centers or via check sent by mail.
