Citing recent research by Carsey School Senior Demographer Ken Johnson and Carsey School faculty fellow Dante Scala, The Washington Post reports that President Trump did best in rural areas that didn’t include any town of more than 10,000 residents. Those areas often have the lowest population density. Trump’s support among areas classified as urban also maps closely to density, according to Johnson and Scala.
