The University System of New Hampshire (USNH) prides itself on being one of the most efficient public university systems in the nation. In order to maintain its financial health in an increasingly competitive higher education environment, we must take advantage of our organizational structure as a system and look for ways to collaborate. At the direction of the system presidents and the USNH board of trustees, we have begun work to create a unified information technology (IT) operation. This will allow us to address the technology needs of all students, faculty and staff while facilitating efficiency and innovation.
USNH has engaged Strata Information Group (SIG) to support this initiative. SIG is a leader in the provision of technology management services supporting the complex needs of higher education institutions, having worked with more than 450 colleges and universities domestically and internationally. This initiative will move quickly but thoughtfully, beginning with data gathering/review and a series of onsite interviews and discussions. The interviewees will include personnel within and outside of IT in order to get a clear sense of how IT services are delivered on each campus. Your honest feedback will enable the team to improve our overall effectiveness and service to the community.
This Initial phase will result in a report to the board of trustees with recommendations by the end of the calendar year. If you have been selected to participate in the interview phase, you will be notified for meetings the week of Oct. 15. Thank you for your assistance with this important initiative.
