The University of New Hampshire School of Law and the Concord Food Co-op have announced a strategic partnership beginning later this month through which the Co-op will operate the law school’s on-campus café, the Jury Box.

The café will be staffed by Co-op employees and will be open for breakfast and lunch.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Co-op on this venture,” said Megan Carpenter, Dean of UNH Law. “The opportunity to join forces with a renowned Concord business to offer healthy, fresh, local food on campus highlights our continued dedication to forward thinking when it comes to the intersection of education and wellness. The Co-op shares our philosophy and spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, and we believe this will be a fantastic partnership between two community-minded organizations.”

“The Co-op is very excited to have been asked to operate The Jury Box Café,” said Chris Gilbert, General Manager of the Co-op. “Based on the volume of positive feedback that we have already received, we feel very much appreciated and know that this partnership will be a tremendous success.”

The café will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to begin, but the hours could change depending on interest.

Featured items early on will include grab-and-go options like sandwiches and salads, as well as breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and beverages. The menu will feature the same locally-sourced items from area providers that the Co-op is known for.

The café will officially open at the start of the UNH Law school year later this month.
