U.S News and World Report has released its 2018 rankings of the best graduate schools in the U.S., and the part-time MBA program at the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics has been ranked among the top 100.
Paul College was the only business school in northern New England to make the top 100. Its part-time MBA program is designed for working professionals and is offered at UNH’s Durham and Manchester campuses.
According to Peter Lane, associate dean of faculty and graduate programs in Paul College, the ranking reflects innovations the university has made to update its MBA curriculum with the introduction of six new specializations, including business analytics, global business, and growth and innovation, plus increased flexibility — students have the option to attend classes on campus or online. Program enrollments have increased 25 percent during the last year.

U.S. News and World Report based its rankings on five criteria for part-time MBA programs: peer reputation, average GMAT and GRE scores of students starting the program; average undergraduate GPA; average number of years of work experience; and the percentage of the total MBA program enrollment that is in the part-time MBA program.
“The Paul College part-time MBA program offers a rich learning experience,” says Deborah Merrill-Sands, dean of the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. “Students in our program average 10 years of professional experience. They learn both from one another and from a faculty that brings together experienced practitioners with academics working on the cutting edge of their field.”
Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report recognized Paul College’s online MBA program with a top-100 ranking, and Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Paul College among the top 40 business schools at public universities in the U.S. in its 2016 listing of the best undergraduate business schools.
UNH offers the only part-time and online MBA programs in New Hampshire that hold the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation. Only 30 percent of MBA programs in the nation hold this distinction.
